WOW! WHAT A DEAL. Because I have limited space in my studio, every year I have to make some hard cuts to bring in something new. So, let's clear this out to make room for next years new collections. My loss is your win with this amazing clearance pricing.

What you'll be getting... A 50" x 58" SUGAR SKULL blanket. It has the Neon Pink BELLA on the back side. This very special and rare find in our store, will have many beautiful upgrades, like mitered corners and quilted stitching around all edges. (see pics) You will LOVE these extra details that make this blanket extra unique. This blanket has mitered  corners and edges, a beautiful feature that adds a lot to the finished look. The Mitered corners and edges create a frame around the silky soft SUGAR SKULLS fabric. I am so excited to offer this soft and cuddly Blanket and help celebrate this wonderful Mexican tradition. I love the way the bright colored skulls look on the jet black background. The more you wash it with our washing directions, the softer it gets.

Day of the Dead & Sugar Skulls History:

  1. Day of the Dead is an interesting holiday celebrated in central and southern Mexico during the chilly days of November 1 & 2. Even though this coincides with the Catholic holiday called All Soul’s & All Saint’s Day, the indigenous people have combined this with their own ancient beliefs of honoring their deceased loved ones. They believe that the gates of heaven are opened at midnight on October 31, and the spirits of all deceased children (Angelitos) are allowed to reunite with their families for 24 hours. On November 2, the spirits of the adults come down to enjoy the festivities that are prepared for them.
  2.  Sugar skulls represented a departed soul, had the name written on the forehead and was placed on the home ofrenda or gravestone to honor the return of a particular spirit. Sugar skulls are labor intensive and made in very small batches in the homes of sugar skull makers.
